Ana Maria Selvaggio was a voracious reader as a child. Aside from her mother's travel books and the children's books she was gifted, a family friend fed her fey lore, folk and indigenous tales. She knew early on that she wanted to write and illustrate her own books, create zines, mini books, and other "publications" for her friends and family.
