Memory is prologue, rippling out to become future form. The past becomes present,
the present yet to see becomes prelude, coiled on the precipice. Crone wisdom passed
and learned, infiltrates marrow and seeps into vein. Collected, it resides here.

Moon Water and Yarrow is a celebration of Crone stories, wisdom, poetry, and imagery. A public call for contributors launching in August of 2026.
MOON WATER AND YARROW
Inaugural Anthology, edited by Ana Maria and Val Michael Selvaggio
Subject: Short stories, essays, and art from a specifically Crone perspective.
Maiden. Mother. Crone.

Anyone in Crone state is past their childbearing years whether physically or medically. They are in the richest part of their life. A Crone is a Watcher, a Caregiver, a Protector. She is less about age and more about Wisdom. Traditionally, folklorically, she was old, stooped, and mean. But Crone is so much more. She is a feral beauty, a wise woman, in tune with her power who empowers others.

Moon Water and Yarrow is a collective of Crone stories by Crones for Crones. It is a collection of short stories, art in all mediums, photography, essays, and poetry. Anyone in the Crone stage of their life may submit work. We specifically want a Crones point-of-view. We may entertain doing Maiden and Mother at a later date so don’t be disheartened.
